A couple of weeks earlier the judges had shortlisted from a total of 67 entries across the four categories of Home, Garden, DIY and Build and all finalists were alerted that they would be required to present their product in front of five industry judges and Sean on the Sunday morning of the show.
From observations outside the judging room it was obvious that the process was being taken very seriously by all those involved. The preparation was about to pay off for some and the opportunity to present to Sean Gallagher a real highlight. A total of 17 companies made it to the final presentation stage and eight walked away with honours when they were announced within an hour of agreement by Hugh O’Donnell, President of HAI and Ged Nash, Minister for Business and Employment at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. Certificates were presented to the following in their respective categories:
Highly commended – Zerocal Plant, Aquasource Distributors
Category winner – Danalock Bluetooth Door Lock, Dominic Fleming Electrical
Commended – Easy 77 Lawnmower, Outdoor Living Munster
Highly commended – Decking Rescue Pain, Ronseal
Category winner – Garden Paint, Ronseal
Commended – Problem Solving Paints, Fleetwood
Highly commended – Easycare Washable Matt Paint with Stain Repellent Technology, Dulux
Category winner – Flogenic, Watersave
Highly commended – Keystones Hi Therm Lintel
Category winner – Keylites Futuretherm Roof Window
Overall winner – Keylites Futuretherm Roof Window
A big thank you to all the entrants and to the judges who did a great job in what was a highly competitive field. The certificate was followed up by a formal presentation of crystal by Sean Gallagher at that evening’s President’s Ball.
