May 17, 2017Each year we will continue to ask members to complete a survey on current wage rates and future employment plans. A summary of the results from our retailer & merchant members is below:
- Of the respondents, the Rest of Leinster accounts for the largest % of participants at 29%.
- 57% of respondents say their business wages account for less than 15%.
- 47% of businesses plan to hire full time employees in 2017, an 11% decrease from 2016.
- 38% of employers intend to increase wages this year, a decrease of 8% from 2016, a 9% decrease from 2016.
- Dublin has the highest rate of pay in the country in all categories bar Department Managers, in
which Munster lead.
