The quarterly Business Index captures net sales revenue from participating member retailers and merchants. Participating members receive a more detailed breakdown including year-on-year comparison; month-on-month comparison, and index comparisons by region, area, number of employees and by category.

About The HAI Business Index

Key Objectives
– To establish an ongoing guide to revenue performance for HAI member firms
– To deliver a total index figure on changes to the total value of the market on a quarterly and annual basis

Year-on-Year Comparisons

The year-on-year increase in Q1 exhibits variation across member groups, being strongest in Connacht/Ulster and in smaller branches (less than 10 staff).

February and March show notable increases Year-on-Year when compared to the same month in 2024.
