President’s Ball back in its traditional home

The President’s Ball, kindly sponsored by Ames True Temper, Dulux, Irish Cement, Gypoc/Isover and Xtratherm, kicked off the biennial Hardware Show in style on the evening of Saturday 4th March at its traditional home of the ‘Burlo’.

Deliberately designed as a fun and enjoyable event, the only two formal parts of the evening were welcoming Hardware Association Ireland’s 33rd President, Kieran Burke from the Grafton Group, and the presentation of the Innovation Awards to their delighted recipients. The host for the evening, Bobby Kerr, made sure proceedings moved swiftly so as not to prevent anyone from tucking into a fine meal and enjoying the company.

Entertainment on the evening included magician, Rob Hackett, warming up guests at the pre-dinner drinks reception, The High Tails – opera singers who had everyone waving napkins in the air at one point and Brass & Co. who had the guests dancing well into the small hours. And if that wasn’t enough, piano man, Maurice Culligan was on the ivories in the hotel bar well into Sunday morning.
