Member revenues rise 5% in Q1 2020

Note: These figures are a snapshot of the sector from January-March 2020, the next quarter’s figures will demonstrate the true impact of Covid-19 closures.

192 member branches are included in the HAI Business Index. In the extraordinary year that is 2020, member firms showed an average 5% increase year on year for Q1 2020. (The respective year on year rise in 2019 for Q1 was 13%). The year on year increase in Q1 is apparent across near all member groups.

The monthly moving average for Q1 is 115%, primarily a function of a strong January performance relative to December. The Q1 monthly moving average is also highly consistent across all member groups, including urban & rural and single & multiple branch members.

22% of member firms offer agricultural supplies (all located outside Dublin)- rising to 47% of rural members.
