As Ireland’s retrofit programme continues to gather pace, hardware and builders’ merchants have an increasingly important role to play. Every day, customers walk into stores looking for advice on insulation, heating, ventilation, grants and energy-efficient products. Having knowledgeable, confident teams at the counter can make all the difference.
Developed in partnership with Hardware Association Ireland and SEAI, and delivered by the National Construction Training Campus, Mount Lucas, Retrofit for Sales has been designed specifically for merchant teams. This fully funded, one-day programme combines practical retrofit knowledge with real-world sales scenarios, giving participants the confidence to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
The course covers the key principles of home energy upgrades, including insulation, heating systems, ventilation, airtightness and SEAI grant supports, while explaining how these elements work together to improve the energy performance of a home. The emphasis is on practical knowledge that can be applied immediately in-store, helping businesses provide an even higher level of customer service.
Recognising the needs of retailers across the country, the programme offers flexible delivery options. Training can take place at the National Construction Training Campus, Mount Lucas, be delivered regionally using LOETB’s mobile NZEB Training Rig, or even in your own store, allowing your team to learn in the environment where they support customers every day.
